Justin V. Yaich, 32, of Jim Thorpe, has been cited by state police at the Fogelsville barracks with careless driving after a two-vehicle accident at 6:53 a.m. Dec. 13 on State Route 100 in Lower Macungie Township.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 north on Rt. 100 and was traveling behind a 2000 Mercury Sable operated by Conchita C. Featherston, 56, of Alburtis, who police said had stopped her vehicle at the intersection of Creamery Road and was attempting to make a left-hand turn.Police said Yaich attempted to take a sip of his coffee, but spilled it onto his lap. When he looked down at the coffee, he did not see the Sable stop and the front of his truck slammed into the rear-end of the woman's acr.Police said Featherston was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries. Yaich was uninjured.
