William John Schilbe, 54, of Orwigsburg, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after he drove a vehicle into a pond on Sept. 22 at 10:51 p.m. in West Brunswick Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he was driving a 2003 Lincoln Navigator when he failed to turn at the intersection of Grist Mill and Woodbridge roads, near the area of the Pine Brook Nursing Home, resulting in the vehicle travelling into the pond.Police said he displayed signs of impairment at the scene and was transported for a blood test. Police said a drug recognition expert conducted testing of the drive and determined him to be impaired. Additional charges against him are pending.
