A television owned by Rent A Center was reportedly stolen from a Tamaqua man's home while he was in the hospital.

Christopher M. Cataldi, 23, of 214 Pine St., Tamaqua, called police Thursday to file the report. Cataldi had been living at 401 Pine St., Tamaqua, and rented the television prior to being involved in an accident. Following the accident, he was hospitalized and contacted Rent A Center, telling them to retrieve the television as he would be unable to make payments.Cataldi also reportedly called his then roommate, Aimee Lynn Bailey, to tell her the company would be coming to retrieve the item. She reportedly said the television wasn't there, which was confirmed by representatives of RAC after they went to the Pine Street home.Anyone with information may contact police at 570-668-6100.
