Four local people among 15 entering guilty pleas

Four area people were among 15 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes.

They include:Christopher J. Sanders, 22, of 23 Center St., Tamaqua, on a charge of turning in four false alarms in the borough received credit for serving 25 days in the county prison and was placed on parole for 12 months, and ordered to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA).According to police investigation Sanders used a cell phone to call 9-1-1 and reported false fires at 24 Center St., 29 Center St., 238 E. Broad St. and Tamaqua Hi Rise. He was cited by Patrolmen Karl Harig and Matthew Bynon.Andrew Lehatto, 25, of 301 Gay St., Tamaqua, on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol was placed on probation for six months, fined $300, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, undergo outpatient substance abuse counseling but will not receive any suspension of driving privileges. Lehatto was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Jeffrey Wainwright.Jeremy Lee Peel, 31, Mahanoy City, on a charge of harassing John Vidzicki outside Club 54 was sentenced to pay a fine of $300, and pay $50 to CJEA. Peel was cited by Mahanoy City Patrolman Brandon Alexander.Justin Daniel Lindenmuth, 25, of 25 Heckman St., Quakake, Rush Township, on a charge of DUI was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison and to report to the prison warden on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m., and when released to serve four years and 11 months on strict probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete outpatient substance abuse treatment, attend safety school and driver's license is suspended 18 months.On summary charges of failing to drive in the right lane was fined $25 and failing to wear seat belt fined $10 plus $100 costs. Pompei when stopped on Valley Road in Walker Township.Luis Artoro Melendez, 52, of 34 School Road, New Philadelphia, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Oct. 24 at 1 p.m and when released to serve four years and 11 months on strict probation in IPP, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, complete safety school, receive intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, driver's license suspended 18 months and when restored to install ignition interlock on car for 12 months to monitor if any alcohol is consumed.On a summary charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 and restrictions on carrying alcohol beverages in car fined $25 plus $100 in costs. Melendez was cited by Trooper Michael Van Buskirk .Thomas Harry Chacho, 48, Schuylkill Haven, on a DUI charge was placed on probation for six months, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, undergo outpatient substance abuse treatment, attend safety school but will not have his license suspended.On a summary charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs.Chacho was cited by Patrolman David T. George, Schuylkill Haven police.Michael Anthony Ansel, 30, Shoemakersville, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (CS) was sentenced to serve two to 23 months in the county prison beginning on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m., and pay $50 to CJEA. He is allowed to participate in the prison's work release program.On a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Yourey.Martin James Donahue Jr., 53, Schuylkill Haven, on a DUI charge was placed in the IPP to serve six months on probation, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, undergo outpatient substance abuse treatment and driver's license suspended 12 months.He also must make restitution of $747.76 to Lorena Lazarchick and $22,286.13 to State Farm Insurance Company. Sanchez following accident on SR183 in Wayne Township.Christopher Morgan, 23, Valley View, on a charge of harassment by cell phone was placed on probation 12 months, fined $100, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours community service. Morgan was cited by Hegins Township Chief Steven Lohr.Douglas Dean Moyer, 47, Cressona, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. and when released to be placed on probation for four years and 11 months in the IPP, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, complete intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, driver's license suspended 18 months and when restored shall install an interlock device on wheel of car to monitor intake of alcohol by driver.On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Moyer was cited by Trooper Alyssa Becker when stopped on Sweet Arrow Road in Wayne Township.Marlene Carol Floray Nagel, 48, Doylestown, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 90 days to five years in the county prison beginning Nov. 1 at 9 a.m., pay a fine of $1,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school when released on probation, undergo intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 10 hours community service, driver's license suspended 18 months and when restored to install an ignition interlock on the wheel of her vehicle.On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended was fined $500 plus $50 costs. Nagel was cited by West Mahanoy Township Chief Shawn Tray, who stopped her vehicle on Ringtown Boulevard because it was traveling with two flat tires.Stephen Edmund Pearce, 25, Wilkes-Barre, on a DUI charge was placed on probation for six months in the IPP, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, complete outpatient substance abuse treatment and driver's license suspended 12 months. Carey.Samuel Allen Red, 67, Weston, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison immediately followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the IPP, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, driver's license suspended 18 months and when restored to install an ignition interlock on his vehicle. Red was cited by Trooper Michael Marinchak when stopped on Mahanoy Street in Nuremberg.Storm David Walcott, 20, Minersville, on a charge of underage drinking was fined $200, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of public drunkenness was fined $300. Walcott was cited by Minersville Patrolman Richard C. Clark.Jamie Lloret Caban, 27, Pittston, on a charge of disorderly conduct was placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. A firearm he had in his possession was taken away and forfeited to the Commonwealth. Caban was cited by McAdoo Patrolman Joseph David.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
