Burglaries, theft and mischief

State police at Lehighton reported investigating two burglaries, two thefts and several acts of criminal mischief.

The first break-in occurred at the residence of Kenneth Berger, 49, of 197 Greenzweig Road, Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said unknown criminals gained entery to a garage/shed on the property and removed various power tools, copper fittings, extension cords, Romex wire, Alum trim coil stock and assorted hand tools. Total estimated value of the missing items is $7,000.The incident occurred sometime between Oct. 8 and 22.The second burglary was report at a residence at 1750 Deer Lane, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Entry was made by damaging a basement door. Once inside the criminals removed about 100-feet of copper wiring from the basement. The property is owned by Cecelia Theresa Pawluk, 57, of Ashland, Schuylkill County.The incident occurred sometime between June 1 and Oct. 17.Renee Louise Costenbader, 49, of 2490 Spruce Hollow Road, in Palmerton, Towamensing Township, reported someone removed a pedal cycle from the back porch of her home. The theft was reported at 3 a.m. on Oct. 18. The cycle is valued at $300.Jeremy William Smith, of 191 Ruby Court, Saylorsburg, Monroe County, reported someone removed a Sony Playstation 3 and Sony Playstation NBA Jam game from his home. The theft occurred sometime between midnight on Oct. 19 and 1 p.m. on Oct. 21.Smith said he had a few acquaintances in his home during the time frame. The items are valued at $334.Several acts of criminal mischief were reported.Lloyd Alfred Gillen, of 882 Molasses Valley Road, Eldred Township, reported someone damaged tree stands that he had on his property. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 10.Hermon John Bollinger, 84, of 3240 Little Gap Road, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, reported someone spray painted a sign blue that he had on his property. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 10.Bernadette Vachon, 51, and Jay Shoemaker, 66, both who have homes in the 1900 block fo Deer Lane, in Towamensing Township, reported their mailboxes were damaged by unknown persons. The incident was reported about 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
