Standing 70 feet up, Randy Nielson of Francis J. Hutta Builders, Coaldale, applies gold leaf to one of the crosses on St. John's Orthodox Church at 9 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning. Nielson has already finished two crosses. After he finishes this one, he has two more to do, including the largest at the church's peak. St. John's celebrated its 75th anniversary last year.
