State police at Frackville are investigating the burglary at a hunting cabin in Schuylkill County. Troopers said the cabin is located at 478 Pine Valley Rd., in East Brunswick Township.
According to troopers sometime between Sunday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 11:45 a.m. unknown criminals gained entry to the cabin by removing a stepladder from a garage area and placing it beneath a side window. A screen on the window was cut and the window pried open.
Once inside the criminals removed multiple items including a Phillips brand 40-inch flat screen television, a wooden chest, an antique ceiling light fixture and gas burning stove.
Troopers said outside the cabin two sheds and a storage area beneath the living area were also entered. Removed from one shed was a generator. A Skil brand circular saw and miter saw were also removed. From the other shed three deer pulleys used in the deer gutting process were removed.
Troopers believe the items were loaded into a vehicle and the criminals then left via an access road.
The cabin is owned by Richard N. George, 60, of Schnecksville. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.
