Blue Mountain Health System to hold free Friends and Family CPR class

The week of June 1, 2010 is slated by the National Heart Association as National CPR and AED Awareness Week. In recognition of this important event, the hospitals of the Blue Mountain Health System will be offering a free Friends and Family Adult and Child CPR class on Thursday, June 3, 2010. The class will be held at the Education Center located inside the health system's Health Works Fitness Center in the Carbon Plaza Mall in Lehighton from 5:30 to 7 p.m.In a sudden cardiac arrest, seconds count. Often, a victim's survival depends upon quick action by the people around them. The American Heart Association wants to save more lives by helping to educate one millions people in the issue of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the need for CPR training.The Friends and Family CPR program teaches how to perform CPR in adults and children as well as how to help an adult or child who is choking. Anyone who wants to learn CPR but does not need a course completion card or certification, is welcome to attend.To register or for more information, call the Blue Mountain Health System's Staff Development Office at (610) 377-7184.
