State police at Lehighton said Michael James Lisk, 30, of Box 5226, Kunkletown R.5, was arrested following an investigation that began on Sunday, June 6, when troopers were called to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, and were told a 13-year-old girl had conducted a "home abortion" on herself. Troopers said the teen showed signs of a recent pregnancy.Troopers said they interviewed the girl at the hospital and she admitted conducting a "home abortion" using a lead pencil. That occurred on Wednesday, June 2. Over the next three days she became violently ill and began having contractions before ultimately delivering a baby at her residence.Troopers further reported that during this time the girl called Lisk. He arrived at the home of the girl and removed the baby from the residence and took the infant in a plastic shopping bag to a wooded area off Lower Middle Creek Road, a tenth of a mile north of SR534, in Polk Township. At this location he buried the child. The body was later recovered by members of the Troop N Forensic Services Unit.Through the course of the investigation, including the execution of search warrants and seizure of evidence at both residences, it was determined that Lisk and the girl had been having a sexual relationship since June of 2009 and that Lisk believed he was the father of the baby.Lisk was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Michael Muth, of East Stroudsburg, and committed to the county prison in Snydersville lin lieu of $50,000 bail.An autopsy was scheduled for today at the LVH.
