Jessica Sattler and Richard Crowley wed

Jessica Rose Sattler and Richard Magner Crowley, both of Durham, N.C., were married on Oct. 10, 2009 on Bald Head Island, N.C. The Rev. Bruce Meyer officiated at the ceremony held in the island chapel.

The bride is the daughter of Robin and Robert Sattler, Southwest Harbor, Maine, and the granddaughter of Phyllis Koches of Indiana.Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose Maria Sanders, California, as her attendant of honor, accompanied by her brothers, Joe and Jake Sattler of Southwest Harbor. Other attendants included cousin Lauren Koches, Indiana; and friend Heather Auclair, Connecticut.Lauren Crowley of Pennsylvania and Abbie Hartfield of Indiana were junior bridesmaids.The bridegroom's attendant of honor was Alana McGee of Seattle, Wash., who was accompanied by his brother Michael Crowley of Hartford, Conn. His other attendants included Jim Mullaly, Pennington, N.J., standing in for his son Ryan; and friends Sean Skeehan and Sean Baron, both of Princeton, N.J.Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Shoal's Club on Bald Head Island. The couple is planning a honeymoon trip to Ireland this summer.Prenuptial parties for the couple included a reception at the Crowley home, "Watercolor," on Bald Head Island, and rehearsal dinner party.The new Mrs. Crowley holds a bachelor of art degree in education from Colby College in Maine, and a master's degree in teaching from the University of Maine. She is an art teacher at C.W. Stanford Middle School in Hillsborough, N.C.Mr. Crowley is the son of Pat and Peter Crowley of Belle Mead, N.J., and grandson of Helen and Frank Homcha of Nesquehoning, and Helen and Robert Crowley of Hingham, Mass.He holds a bachelor of science degree in environmental science from Colby College and is completing his last semester as a graduate student seeking a master of science degree at Nicholas School for Environmental Studies at Duke University.The newlyweds currently reside in Durham, N.C.
