Joanne Sandt weds Jeremy Atkinson

Joanne Sandt and Jeremy Atkinson, both of Spring, Texas, were united in marriage on Oct. 31, 2009 at Shady Oaks in Spring, Texas. The Rev. C. Daniel Swyden officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride is the daughter of James and Susan Sandt of Lehighton.She chose Julie Schmidt of Spring, as the maid of honor.Bridesmaids included Kimberly Bateman, Amanda Ratigan, Heather Flower and her sister-in-law Stefanie Lambert, who are all of the Spring-Houston area.The bridegroom is the son of Barbara and Raymond Lambert II of The Woodlands, Texas. He chose his father to be his best man.Ushers included Edward Bruce Atkinson II of Dubuque, Iowa, uncle of the bridegroom; Edward Bruce Atkinson III, also of Dubuque, cousin of the bridegroom; Matthew Oseng and Brandon LeBlanc, both of Houston.Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Shady Oaks.Although the reception was a formal one, since the wedding took place on Halloween, the guests donned costumes for the reception, while the bride and bridegroom dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Frankenstein.The bride's maternal grandparents, Bob and Jane McCombs of Lehighton, traveled to Texas to attend the festivities.The newlyweds honeymooned in New Orleans.The new Mrs. Atkinson is a 2006 graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in fine arts. She is employed by the Spring Independent School District as an elementary school art teacher.Mr. Atkinson attended Southwest Missouri State University. He is employed as a bartender at the Marriott Hotel and Resort in The Woodlands, Texas.
