Library story hour

Panther Valley Public Library will hold preschool story hour at 10 a.m. every Tuesday beginning Sept. 11 and continuing through Dec. 18. Children ages 3-5 are invited to join us for a story, craft and snack. This program is free of charge.

No registration is necessary, just drop by the library to enjoy this fun-filled hour. For more information, call the library 570-645-3780.

Senior center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Sept. 17-21 is:

Monday: Steak Diane with grilled onions, boiled potatoes, beets and carrots and pears or turkey Swiss wrap

Tuesday: Wonton soup, Asian chicken salad, roll and pudding

Wednesday: Cheeseburger, potato salad, corn on the cob, coleslaw and a brownie

Thursday: Crispy baked fish, potatoes Au gratin, broccoli and cauliflower and ice cream or chicken bacon sandwich

Friday: Pork Marsala, noodles, carrots and rice pudding or tuna wrap

The Panther Valley Senior Center has also announced upcoming events through the end of the month.

Now You Have It Now You Don’t on Sept. 17 at 11 a.m.; Sands Casino Bus Trip on Sept. 18 leaving at 10 a.m.; Fresh Fruit and Veggie Bingo on Sept. 19 at 11 a.m.; Trivia on Sept. 20 at 11 a.m.; Movie & Pizza on Sept. 21 at 10 a.m.

Yahtzee on Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.; County Picnic at Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club on Sept. 25 from 10 a.m.-3 a.m., preregister at the center; Bingo on Sept. 26 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on Sept. 27 at 11 a.m.; Horseracing on September 28 at 11 a.m.

Nesquehoning

VFW Auxiliary

The regular monthly meeting of the Nesquehoning VFW Auxiliary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the Post home.

District 20 President Guyette Calles will make her official visit and will be inspecting the unit. Members are reminded that Tommy’s papers are due at the meeting and 2019 dues are also payable.
