Carbon Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items last week:

• Approved a quote from GeographIT, a division of EBA Engineering Inc. of Lancaster for the creation and purchase of an E9-1-1 data replication script that will allow two-way data replication between the Carbon County ArcGIS server and the Tyler New World Computer Aided Dispatch. The fee is $6,500 and is covered under a Statewide Interconnectivity Project grant.

• Approved the 2019 training membership program contract with Bucks County Community College for a bronze membership project at a cost of $1,200. This is covered under a Hazardous Materials Response Fund grant.

• Ratified the execution and submission of a grant agreement from the state Department of Community and Economic Development for the 2018 Emergency Solutions grant in the amount of $79,200 between Nov. 30, 2018, and May 30, 2020, for emergency shelter, rapid rehousing and homelessness prevention services. The grant is subcontracted out to Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services, $45,000 and Family Promise of Carbon County, $34,200 for services.

• Ratified an agreement with Civicsmart, formerly Duncan Parking Technologies, for the rental of an X3 Auto Trax unit to be used to change the rate of the parking meters. The cost of the two-week rental is $350 plus shipping and handling.

• Approved service agreements with Edwards Business Systems of Wyomissing for a new Bizhub printer/copier/scanner for District Judges Eric Schrantz and William Kissner’s offices, as well as the sheriff’s office. The cost will be billed quarterly per copy and includes toner, parts and labor. Price will be fixed for three years from the date of installation.

• Approved a letter of agreement with Zelenkofske Axelrod LLC for financial consulting services in 2019 at a fee not to exceed $84,000.

• Ratified an arrangement letter to KRL LLP for the 2018 single audit, which includes the Workforce Investment Agency at a cost not to exceed $44,800.

• Adopted a proclamation recognizing Jan. 20-26 as School Choice Week in Carbon County.

Juracka of Jim Thorpe, from special deputy sheriff trainee to deputy sheriff, sheriff’s office, effective Jan. 7; Amanda C. McMahon of Allentown, from 911 operator to part-time dispatcher, communications center, effective Jan. 17.
