Carbon County commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners approved the following items during their meeting on Thursday:

• Advertised the modification of Lehighton’s Community Development Block Grant funds for 2018, 2019 and 2020. The borough is moving $28,098.77 from 2018 CDBG funds; $86,401 from 2019 CDBG funds and $88,540 in 2020 CDBG funds, all slated for ADA corners at various intersections in the borough to community Grove Park improvements and the demolition of 135-139 N. First St.

• Approved to proposals from Clear Security Systems of West Caldwell of New Jersey to purchase and install bullet resistant Fiberglas panels at District Courts in Lansford and Jim Thorpe. The total cost for the two projects is $16,840, which is funded by the AOPC security grant.

• Approved the reimbursement agreement supplement with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for Bridge 12, located on North Old Stage Road over Mud Run in Kidder and Penn Forest Township. The bridge is to be replaced. This supplement adds cost for right of way acquisitions and utility relocations. Cost sharing amounts are 80 percent federal or $637,072; 15 percent state or $119,451; and 5 percent county or $39,817.

• Hire as recommended by department supervisor: Bonnie M. Snyder of Palmerton, part-time senior center operator I, Area Agency on Aging, effective Sept. 20.

• District attorney appointment: Olivia A. Dacey of Coaldale, part-time legal secretary, effective Sept. 20.

• Change of status: Anthony J. Fatzie of Summit Hill, from part-time dispatcher to 911 operator, communications, effective Sept. 20; and Taylor M. Davis of Lansford, from part-time dispatcher trainee to part-time dispatcher, communications, effective Sept. 20.
