One person is dead and several others injured after an overnight crash in Banks Township, Carbon County. The crash occurred just after midnight as a single vehicle was traveling west on Main Street just east of the village of Junedale.

The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway sliding across the roadway entering the right berm impacting with a  number of trees. State police at Hazleton along with its crash reconstruction team are investigating the incident.
