The Panther Valley School Board adopted a revised budget of $3,050,079 that increases real estate taxes by 5 mills and calls for the imposition of a new occupational tax of 5 percent.

The occupational tax will be levied against the assessed valuation of a person's occupation, not on the basis of his or her salary, but on the skill of the trade or profession.According to skill classification, a laborer will pay $10 annually in contrast to a tradesman such as a plumber who will be taxed approximately $30 per year.
