State police at Frackville

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 45-year-old Coaldale man was charged with strangulation after police responded to an incident at 5:54 p.m. April 5 on East High Street in Coaldale.

Police said the victim is a 15-year-old boy from Coaldale who is the ex-boyfriend of the man’s daughter.

• Police said they were called to the State Correctional Institute in Ryan Township, to investigate a same sex forcible sex incident that was reported to have taken place in 1990.• Police were called to the Walmart store at 35 Plaza Drive, Hometown at 2:37 p.m. March 29 to investigate a theft by deception incident. Store personnel reported an unknown person used a counterfeit $20 bill during a transaction.

• Police were called to the State Correctional Institute in Ryan Township to take two reports of inmates alleging they were harassed through communications. A 35-year-old man from Pittsburgh reported harassment took place during the 24-hour period of Aug. 13 while a 31-year-old man from Frackville said he was harassed on Aug. 25.

• Police were summoned to probe an extortion/blackmail incident that was reported at 9:40 a.m. April 1. Police said they were called to a property on Walters Lane, Union Township, where the resident reported being contacted through the internet and told pictures of the victim would be posted on social media if $25,000 was not paid to the unknown man.

• A criminal mischief incident was reported at a property on Water Street in Blythe Township. A 20-year-old man from Cumbola told police someone damaged the windshield of his 2005 Ford F150 between 11 p.m. April 2 and 5 p.m. April 3 and fled the scene.

Vehicle reported stolen in Schuylkill Township

• Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle reported at 10:45 a.m. April 8.

A 56-year-old woman from Brockton reported a 2018 maroon or burgundy Dodge Caravan was stolen from Lewis Street in Schuylkill Township.
