April 6, 1964 - Joe Visnosky and Mike Perich both win multiple events to help Palmerton open its track season with a convincing 82-13 Lehigh Valley League victory over Catasauqua. Visnosky captures both the 100 and 220, taking the 100 in a time of 10.2 and the 220 in 25.4. Perich betters the field in the shot put and discus, registering a distance of 42-8 in the shot and 106-10 in the discus. Other first-place winners for the Blue Bombers, coached by Don Holland, include Dave Snyder (440), Duane Costenbader (880), Wayne Heinzelman (mile), Charlie Romig (pole vault), Doug Roth (high jump) and Pete Perich (broad jump).
