Police: Saylorsburg man had outstanding warrants, drugs

Pocono Township Police say charges are pending against a Saylorsburg man for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 23, an Pocono Township officer observed a silver GMC Acadia traveling south on Route 611 with several equipment violations.

Police stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn in Bartonsville.

The driver, Sean P. McDermott, 34, of Saylorsburg, had active warrants out of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Further investigation resulted in discovering that McDermott was in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. McDermott was placed into the Monroe County Correctional Facility on his active warrants.
