Today is Pop Out Day

Carbon County recognized the importance of drinking water during the weekly commissioners’ meeting last Thursday. The board presented Georgia Farrow, second from left, with a proclamation naming May 8 as Pop Out Day in Carbon County. The day urges children to choose water instead of sugary beverages, which can lead to health issues and obesity. As part of Pop Out Day, Farrow said Weatherly School District was participating in a pledge signing and giving out bottles of water. The school participates in this annually. With Farrow are, from left, Commissioners Rocky Ahner, Michael Sofranko and Wayne Nothstein. AMY MILLER/TIMES NEWS
