Soup sale ends

Today is the final day to order soup from Effort UMC. Being offered are Roasted Harvest Vegetable and Old Fashioned Chicken Noodle. Contact the church at 570-629-1890.

Pre-ordered soup will be ready for pick-up Sunday after each of the morning services, which are at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

Meal tonight

Zion Lutheran Church’s menu for the free community dinner today is meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, vegetable and dessert. It is a drive through event, between 5 and 6 p.m.

Quilters meet

The Western Pocono Women’s Club quilting crew will meet at the home of member Pat Mackes at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, working until about 3 p.m.

Folks planning to attend are asked 610-681-4967 to signify their attendance.

The entire club will meet at 7 p.m., Nov. 20, at Effort UMC for a regular meeting

The evening’s activity is making a Christmas craft. It will be demonstrated by Tonya Weiss.

Lions meeting

The Western Pocono Lions Club will meet at noon tomorrow at Cherry’s Restaurant in Kresgeville.

Canceled dinner

Effort UMC has announced that the previously scheduled Community Thanksgiving feast has had to be canceled due to illness and surgery of the principals involved in preparation of the feast.
