Monroe County incidents

State police at Stroudsburg reported on the following incidents:

• Andrew Mihalichko, 58, of Effort, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 12:41 a.m. July 2 at 460 Strawberry Hill Road, Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt that crashed into a bush on the property.

Police said Mihalichko was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, where he was processed and released.

Police said he had a minor wrist injury but refused medical treatment.

The car was towed from the scene.

• An 18-year-old woman from Stroudsburg was charged with two counts of harassment by physical contact after she bit her grandfather at 12:01 a.m. July 9.

It happened at a residence on Helen Street in Hamilton Township, where police said the woman’s grandparents and her arguing about her removing the headrests from the grandfather’s vehicle and having visible “hickies” on her neck.

Police said the grandfather took possession of the teen’s cellphone, handing it to the grandmother. When the teen went after her grandmother, the grandfather stepped in the middle of them and was bitten on both his left and right arm by the granddaughter, police said.

Police said the woman then pushed both grandparents before leaving the residence. Police said the grandparents declined medical treatment by EMS personnel.

• A 19-year-old man from Bushkill is facing theft charges stemming from an incident at 11:23 a.m. July 8.

Police said it is alleged the man stole cellphones belonging to a 25-year-old woman from Stroudsburg and a 21-year-old man from Philadelphia. Police said the phones were returned to the owner.

The theft occurred at a property on Martz Road in Hamilton Township.
