Franklin Township police log

The Franklin Township Police Department released details on the following incidents:

• A 34-year-old resident reported on Jan. 11 that his identity was used without his permission. The victim’s personal identifying information was used to open a business line of credit. The investigation is ongoing.

• A 26-year-old Hazleton man was charged with driving under DUI suspension and having an active warrant issued by Luzerne County, for an incident that occurred Jan. 14 following a traffic stop conducted for a suspended registration plate. The man was charged with the traffic offenses and transferred to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.

• A 59-year-old township reported on Jan. 22 that his identity was used without his permission. The victim’s personal identifying information was used to open an unauthorized credit line, as well as attempting to open other lines of credit. The investigation is ongoing.

• A 70-year-old resident reported on Feb. 14 that his identity was used without his permission. The victim’s personal identifying information was used to attempt to open bank accounts at multiple financial institutions. The investigation is ongoing.

• A 59-year-old resident was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and similar misconduct, and additional charges, for an incident that occurred Feb. 15 as part of a disturbance in the area of the Lehigh Canal adjacent to Canal Street. The individual was transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
