Warmth for Winter Drive

Palmerton Kids for the Community is accepting new or gently used items only, such as coats, scarves, hats and gloves (all-weather proof only). Donations can be dropped off at 783 Princeton Ave., Palmerton.

Drama Club

The Palmerton Area Drama Club will present Irving Berlin’s White Christmas the musical. It will be held Dec. 1, 2 and 3. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and curtain will be at 7 p.m. It will be held in the Palmerton Area High School auditorium.

Grief and Loss Support Group

The Monthly Grief and Loss Support Group and Jerusalem United Church, 454 Church Road, Trachsville meets twice a month on the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m., and the fourth Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The group is presently being held on a web platform. Directed by professional counselor, Sue Fetro, M.E.D., E.D.D., M.S. Counseling, this group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss or death. It is an effort to assist people in the surrounding community to heal and find peace.

Blue Mountain Community Church

Blue Mountain Community Church, 25 Oak St., Palmerton holds Sunday services at 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. Live streaming available.

Christmas Eve at Penn’s Peak

Blue Mountain Community Church is presenting Christmas Eve at Penn’s Peak, 325 Maury Road, Jim Thorpe. The free event is at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24.

A service, refreshments and photo op. No reservations or tickets needed. Wonderful music, an inspiring message. Come as you are and bring a friend.

Blanket drive

Tis the season to Share the Warmth with our local senior citizens this holiday season. Please consider donating a new, unused, unwrapped, fleece blanket or a monetary donation toward the purchase of one.

Blankets and/or monetary donations can be dropped off at the Sokol Hall 214, 452 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton.

Christmas in the Park

The Palmerton Holiday Lighting Committee is sponsoring Christmas in the Park on Dec. 3, with a rain date of Dec. 4.

Events are as follows:

Noon: Opening ceremony with remarks by Mayor Don Herman, as well as food and craft vendors.

12:15 p.m.: Towmensing Elementary School Chorus

Noon-5 p.m.: Free face painting for children

1-3 p.m.: Santa greets all children on the bandstand. (Children must be in line by 2:30 p.m. to see Santa). Goodie bags for all children, chances on prizes.

1:15-4 p.m.: Wagon rides

3:30-4:45 p.m.: Holiday favorites performed by “Off the Charts Music School Elves”

4:45 p.m.: Top three tree awards

5 p.m.: Lighting of 155 Christmas trees.

Donations of new unwrapped toys will be accepted for CACPAC Toys for Kids Drive. Nonperishable food items will be collected for the CACPAC Food Pantry. All donations please take to the Bandstand.

Baked Sale

The Concourse Club of Palmerton will be holding a bake sale at Palmerton’s Christmas in the Park. See them at their tent in the park beginning at noon.
