Mr. Weaverface releases new Christian contemporary rock single ‘The Holy Light Is Jesus’

A Palmerton native has released his new single.

Independent Christian rock musician Mr. Weaverface (Brendon Weaver) released his new single, “The Holy Light Is Jesus” on Friday.

Weaver, a 1995 graduate of Palmerton Area High School, described how Jesus Christ helps those who call on him.

“I was dealing with a lot of issues most of my adult life,” Weaver said. “A lot of people don’t know that dark thoughts, anxiety, anger and a whole range of negativity can have an evil spiritual influence. I knew deep down God could solve those problems that I was having, and he took care of it at exactly the right time.”

The song was recorded by music director Jason Wegfahrt at TCLV Studios in Bethlehem. It was mixed by producer Jason Reif of Freestone Productions.

“As I was lying in bed, I heard the phrase ‘The Holy Light Is Jesus’ sung by what sounded like a chorus of angels,” Mr. Weaverface said, describing the origin of the song’s creation. “The words were sung in the melody of the guitar solo in the beginning of the song. So, if that was something God wanted me to hear, I thought I should probably write a song about it and share it with others.”

On the song, Mr. Weaverface sings, and plays electric guitar and bass. Drumming on the song is Kevin Soffera, former drummer of Breaking Benjamin, who recorded the drums at this own production studio, Hybrid Studios PA.

“People are always looking for a solution - and answer - to fix themselves when they are struggling mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually,” Weaver says. “There’s a great peace in knowing Jesus and knowing that he can help. So if I can get the word out through music, and simplify that search, then that’s what I’m going to do.”

In January, Weaver announced the release of his first Christian rock single “Jesus Is Alive.”

“Jesus Is Alive” was recorded and mixed at TCLV Studios in Bethlehem, and talks about the power of Jesus Christ.

Weaver sings and plays electric guitar and bass on the song. He is joined by Soffera, who recorded the drums.

His musical background started at the age of 5 when he began taking piano lessons. Weaver continued with classical piano training throughout high school.

After graduating high school, he learned guitar and began songwriting and performing at coffee house events at Elizabethtown College.

Weaver then moved to the Reading area, where he was lead singer and guitarist for two alternative rock bands in the early 2000s, Human Alloy and Mercy Nation, touring locally to play at venues such as The Silo, The Sterling Hotel and The Trocadero Theatre.

He was then called by the Lord to play guitar and sing for the worship team at Community Evangelical Church in Sinking Spring for the past 12 years.

Professionally, Dr. Weaver is an optometrist at his private practice, Weaver Eye Care Associates in Bernville.

Weaver and his wife, Laura, have two daughters, Kaylee and Chloe.
