Anniversary: Franklin Township couple celebrates 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barachie Jr. of Lehighton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

They were married by the Rev. Melvin Hammer Jr. on March 4, 1972, in St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Weissport.

Mrs. Barachie is the former Rose Nenscel, the daughter of the late Joseph and Iva Nenscel of Gilbert. She is retired from PenTeleData.

Mr. Barachie is the son of the late Joseph and Mary Barachie Sr. of Jim Thorpe. He was a co-owner of Pol-Bar Automotive in Lehighton, which closed, and now is retired.

They have two daughters, Ginger and her husband, Duane Masonheimer, of Walnutport and Larissa Barachie of Jim Thorpe.

The couple also has four grandsons, Gordon IV and Joseph Lindermuth and Joshua and Jared Masonheimer. They also have two great-grandchildren, Adaline and Archer Masonheimer.

They celebrated their anniversary at Lengyel’s Restaurant.
