Weatherly Legion Post marks Sept. 11 anniversary

A Sept. 11 20th anniversary ceremony was held on Saturday at the American Legion Post 360 in Weatherly.

The program began with an invocation followed by a welcome and Pledge of Allegiance.

“The Star-Spangled Banner” was sung by Albert Titus and the laying of the memorial wreath was conducted by Georgia Farrow and Sally Mitchell.

Commander Chris Keller recited “A Day to Remember,” and “Remembering 911” was delivered by Donna Thomas. Remarks were given by Shane Moran and John McGee.

The Freedom Flag was raised by Chris Keller and Arnold Keller, Post 360.

“The Ten Elements of the Freedom Flag” was narrated by members of the community.

Remarks were given by Mayor Paul John Hadzick, Carbon County Director of Veterans Affairs Christine LeClair and Tom Gerhard, representing U.S. Congressman Dan Meuser.
