Carbon County commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners, during their weekly meeting last week, approved the following items:

• Adopted a proclamation honoring the child support enforcement program in the county, which celebrated its 46th anniversary.

Bridge Johnston, director, said that her staff has one of the highest caseloads per person in this department throughout the state with nearly 900 cases per person.

Personnel

• Retirement: James E. Dodson of Summit Hill, chief juvenile probation officer, effective Oct. 1.

• Resignations: Robert T. Lilly of Tamaqua, deputy sheriff, effective Aug. 27; Melissa S. Armbruster of Lehighton, part-time clerical specialist, prothonotary, effective Aug. 23; Whitney M. Falu of Coaldale, part-time 911 dispatcher trainee, effective Aug. 23; and Ashley F. Unangst of Schnecksville, law clerk, court administration, effective Sept. 7.

• Employment separations: Raymond G. Donnelly of Jim Thorpe, summer supervisor and Gunnar B. Rehrig of Jim Thorpe, summer laborer, both Liquid Fuels Summer Program, effective Aug. 13. The commissioners thanked them for taking part in this program, which has drastically dwindled over the last several years.

• Hires as recommended by department supervisors: Mariah L. Zakutney of Hazleton, part-time 911 dispatcher trainee, effective Aug. 30; Katherine M. Kramer of Nesquehoning, part-time parking/meter attendant, effective Aug. 30; and Caleb D. Carpenter of Lehighton, IT specialist, effective Sept. 7.

• Change of status: Anthony J. Fatzie of Summit Hill, from part-time dispatcher trainee to part-time dispatcher, effective Aug. 30.
