The Nesquehoning Borough Council, at a special meeting last night, agreed to take over a portion of the dirt road leading from Route 45 in the Village of Hauto to the Lake Hauto development.

The Blue Ridge Real Estate Company recently blacktopped the road from the railroad tracks at Tippett’s Swamp to the commercial area of Lake Hauto, and repaired, widened and placed a stone base on the remainder of the road.

Borough officials indicated they do not intend to surface the remainder of the road this year, but it may be done next spring when Blue Ridge plans to blacktop the west entrance and all of Lake Drive, completely encircling the lake development.
