Tyra Boni, she’s the real deal

Join me, re-elect Tyra Boni, clerk of courts. Tyra and her team of professionals have made remarkable and verifiable progress in an office previously in total disarray when the former clerk retired, was arrested, convicted and jailed. I give due credit to the appointed interim and short-term clerk who made an admirable effort laying groundwork for Tyra’s team. Sometimes one’s greatest success is setting one’s successor up for success. However, it’s Tyra’s leadership that propelled the remarkable progress of the past 16 months; from shambles of a short time ago to standard setting for Carbon County row offices and sixth-class county peer offices.

Tyra’s high-performing team achieved the following:

• Largest payments ($1,830,000) of restitution, fines and court costs collected in five years.

• Largest disbursements ($2,210,000) to victims, taxpayers, municipalities etc., in nine years, ranking No. 1 of 24 sixth-class counties.

• Taxpayer savings of $96,176 through conservative spending, workflow improvements, process streamlining and cross training.

Tyra is a dynamic leader who can go toe-to-toe with any commissioner, an incredibly important attribute. She’s the only row officer of nine who proactively and formally presented the commissioners and the public her office’s challenges and accomplishments. Every taxpayer should (re)watch her annual review https://bit.ly/2Q1DniJ. It‘s clear, concise, complete and recognizes a team effort. Ten minutes of awe and of the quality witnessed over five years in the Pentagon and briefing the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

Tyra’s the real deal. Carbon needs many more elected officials like her. In the meantime, I will focus on ensuring her re-election. This county has benefited enormously from her team’s accomplishment, and why I have put my name, reputation, family time and financial support behind her re-election.

Let’s keep the momentum going. We made the right choice in May and November 2019. Re-elect Tyra Boni.

Respectfully,

Commissioner Chris Lukasevich

Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired)
