The Jim Thorpe Area School district approved six letters of intent to retire at Tuesday’s school board meeting.

The following are effective June 30:

Michael Pope, chemistry teacher; Anne O’Donnell, reading specialist; Tracy Newton, elementary guidance counselor; Patricia Bucci, math teacher; and Darlene Bateman, cafeteria.

The following is effective Aug. 9:

Lucile Franko, administrative assistant.
