FCI-Schuylkill inmate sentenced for drugs

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Richol Griner, 44, of Washington, D.C., was sentenced Thursday to 18 months’ imprisonment by United States District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani for possessing Suboxone while serving a prior prison term as an inmate at a federal correctional institution.

According to Acting United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, on or about March 1,2019, while incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, Schuylkill (FCI-Schuylkill),

located in Minersville, Griner possessed 49 units of suboxone.

Mariani ordered that the 18-month sentence was to run consecutively to the federal sentence that Griner was already serving.

The matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffery St John prosecuted the case.
