LVH plans move ahead in Mahoning Twp.

Several agreements for the development of Lehigh Valley Hospital - Carbon in Mahoning Township have been approved.

Township supervisors on Wednesday unanimously passed traffic signal, stormwater and maintenance, and development agreements for the hospital.

The traffic signal installation and maintenance agreement was approved under the conditions that the township receive a reimbursement cost deposit check of $20,000 from Lehigh Valley Hospital; the incorrect township building address in the agreement be revised by township solicitor Tom Nanovic; and that the township receive the latest revised plans from Dec. 30, 2020.

The stormwater and maintenance agreement was approved under the conditions that a certificate of insurance be obtained naming the township as an additional insured; a check in the amount of $10,000 would go in the escrow for maintenance of the stormwater facilities; and an improved image of the plan of exhibit A in a pdf form would be produced.

The development agreement was approved contingent upon Nanovic reviewing the latest revision made to it.

In addition, supervisors agreed to open three accounts for the PennDOT escrow funds, the traffic signal agreement escrow funds and the stormwater maintenance agreement escrow funds.

Lastly, the board agreed to reapprove LVH plans including the Beck Family Trust and MTMA Final Plan Major Subdivision, LVH Final Plan Major Subdivision and the LVH Final Land Development Plan. This was necessary in order for the plan dates to appear as Dec. 30, 2020, due to issues with the recorder of deeds and the 90-day requirement.

The hospital will be built on land catty-cornered to the Walmart Superstore on Blakeslee Boulevard.
