S. Hill native earns pharmacy degree

Thaddeus M. Karnish of Summit Hill earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Wilkes University’s Nesbitt School of Pharmacy during commencement exercises in May.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Wilkes in 2024, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude and earning a place on the Dean’s List for each semester of his undergraduate career.

While in the pharmacy program Dr. Karnish served as chapter president of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, treasurer of the Pharmacy Student Senate, and a member of the Gamma Lambda chapter of Rho Chi Honor Society.

Academically, he received preceptor commendations for infectious disease, internal medicine, and institutional pharmacy. He was also the recipient of the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists Award at graduation. His clinical rotations included community, institutional, infectious disease, psychiatric, and infectious disease pharmacy, as well as academia.

He is enrolled in his post-graduate residency program at Geisinger Health Systems in Danville, where he intends to specialize in infectious disease pharmacy. He obtained his Pennsylvania Pharmacist license upon completing his NAPLEX and MPJE exams this summer.

A 2020 graduate of Panther Valley High School, he is the son of Sheri Karnish and Frank and Sara Karnish of Summit Hill.
