Last weekend the Slatington Economic Development and Town Beautification Committee conducted a cleanup and power washing event in the 600 block of Main Street. Council President Ryan Mayberry said, “This event was the first step we are taking to make Main Street of Slatington more beautiful and inviting. We picked up trash, cleaned up the tree bases, weeded, and power washed dirt off the sidewalks. Thanks to all the volunteers that came out. And thanks to the Slatington Fire Department for helping to supply water. We also encourage property owners to take steps to maintain their facades as well.” PATRICIA INGLES/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
