Fern Ridge police report on Monroe crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 1:48 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the intersection of Merwinsburg Road and Burger Hollow Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Danuta M. Slaski, 37, of Columbia, New Jersey, was driving a 2016 Ford Escape southbound in Merwinsburg Road while Shaine Kadyorios, 52, of Effort, was driving a 1999 Ford Econoline E150 van eastbound on Burger Hollow Road. Troopers said Kadyorios failed to stop for a posted stop sign at the intersection. His van hit the Escape in the front right quarter panel area.

Slaski, and passengers James A. Duckworth, 35, and a 2-year-old girl, both from Columbia, were all injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono campus, East Stroudsburg. Kadyorios refused medical treatment, troopers said. Both vehicles were towed.

Kadyorios was cited for five motor vehicle code violations including driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 8:06 a.m. on Oct. 14 along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County. Troopers said David L. Kraemer, 30, of Pottstown, Montgomery County, was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went off the road on the right side, into an embankment, continued along the embankment before coming to final rest in a creek.

Kraemer was not injured. The Nissan had to be towed.

• Another one-vehicle crash was reported at 8:11 p.m. on Oct. 13 along Interstate 380 in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Timothy E. Gronski, 36, of Covington Township, Lackawanna County, was driving a 2017 Ford F250 truck northbound when the vehicle struck a deer that had entered the road in front of it. The deer made contact with the front passenger side of the truck. Gronski was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.

• Police

reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 2:25 p.m. on Sept. 22 along Route 115, at Erin Lane, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Ashley M. Clark, 27, of Huntersville, North Carolina, was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango, southbound on 115 while Margaret J. Elia, 77, of Stroudsburg, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, was making a right turn from Erin Lane onto 115. As Elia entered the intersection her vehicle was struck by Clark’s vehicle. Clark failed to stop for a red light, troopers said. After impact the Dodge traveled about 75 feet and came to rest. The Impala spun clockwise and came to rest on the east side of the intersection.

Clark complained of knee and back pain and was taken by West End ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital, East Stroudsburg. Her passenger, Aaron D. Albers, 28, of Dushore, Sullivan County, and Elia were not injured.

Clark was cited for the red light violation.
