LCCC student scholars named

Five Lehigh Carbon Community College students are participating in the Bucknell Community College Scholars program, a fully paid six-week academic program for high-achieving students at Bucknell University, located in Lewisburg. Due to the COVID-19 virus, the 2020 residential program at Bucknell has transitioned to a virtual summer program to be held June 15 to July 13. The following local LCCC students have been accepted to the 2020 Bucknell Community College Scholars Virtual Summer Program:

Jillian Degiglio of Nesquehoning and Penina Vitulli and Mason Gyarmati, both of Albrightsville.

The summer program will include a virtual introduction and orientation to Bucknell, academic assignments and virtual discussion sessions with faculty, virtual “Community Meetings” in guided cohort-building activities and virtual sessions to introduce the students to campus resources and opportunities. The goal is for LCCC students to consider applying as junior transfers for the full tuition scholarship at Bucknell.

Additionally, Christian Gould of Jim Thorpe, an LCCC education A.A. graduate has been accepted to Bucknell University and awarded a full-tuition scholarship. Gould participated in the residential summer 2019 Bucknell Community College Scholars Summer program.
