Carbon Bar Association donates to local food pantries

Attorney Cynthia Yurchak, back, chancellor of the Carbon County Bar Association, recently presented a check in the amount of $10,000 to Stanley Haupt, executive director of Shepherd House Inc. to help replenish the various county food banks which have experienced an increase in demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Haupt said Shepherd House has faced many challenges such as increased food costs and depleted store shelves, making it difficult to supply even the usual demand. They have been relying on Second Harvest to obtain much of the necessary food items that are distributed to residents in need. “The Carbon County Bar Association is proud to be able to assist The Shepherd House to provide food to area food banks,” Yurchak said.
