Police: Son shot father in Monroe

Stroud Area Regional Police are investigating a family dispute in Stroud Township which left one person dead.

On Thursday, at 10:45 p.m., the Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to Wisteria Court in Stroud Township for a report of an adult man that was just shot by his son.

The victim, later identified as 58-year-old Frank Azzaretto, was transported to a local hospital and died as a result of injuries sustained by a shotgun.

Preliminary investigation reveals that there was a physical domestic disturbance within the family residence.

As a result of the ongoing disturbance, police said 20-year-old Nicholas Azzaretto, fatally shot his father in the upper torso.

At this time the investigation is still ongoing.
