Schuylkill County Court

A Kunkletown man arrested by Rush Township police for criminal trespass is headed to state prison, in a ruling by President Judge William E. Baldwin Aug. 6.

Matthew J. Haydt

, 31, was arrested by officer Michael Weaver on Feb. 18, 2019. He will serve nine to 24 months at state prison, must pay $100 restitution to a victim and $50 in costs.

In a ruling Aug. 9, Baldwin sentenced a Mary D man to time served to 23 months on multiple charges.

Joseph B. Frantz

, 32, was arrested by St. Clair police on retail theft charges in December 2017; by Tamaqua police on a criminal mischief charge on Feb. 26, 2018, and a theft charge on Feb. 28, 2018; by Rush Township police on a resisting arrest charge on Jan. 4, 2019. Frantz was sentenced to time served to 23 months, must pay $5,279 restitution to a victim, and $200 in costs. He will be on strict probation for 23 months.

In a ruling Aug. 6, Judge John Domalakes admitted a Tamaqua man into the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for first-time offenders. If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Brian J. Haley
