Keystone Medical Equipment earns high marks

Keystone Medical Equipment has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Home Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

“Back in 1971, we began as a local pharmacy that focused on respiratory services. Now we provide a wide variety of home medical equipment to Carbon County and the surrounding areas.” said Chris Evans, president at Keystone Medical Equipment. “This accreditation illustrates our continued commitment to the level of care we provide in the home, and we greatly value The Joint Commission’s acknowledgment of our program.”

As a regional provider of home medical supplies, Keystone Medical Equipment’s staff ensures that area residents can receive their medical supplies without having to leave the area. Offering personalized care, Keystone Medical Equipment’s staff are trained in ensuring comprehensive clinical support.

Keystone Medical Equipment underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site review on April 27. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with Home Care Accreditation Program standards spanning several areas including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, and leadership.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients.

They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.

The surveyors also conducted on-site observations and interviews.
