Nesquehoning Police need the public’s help in identifying the suspect of an armed robbery that took place in the borough between noon and 1 p.m. on Friday.

The incident took place along Route 93 at the base of the Broad Mountain.

The suspect led three males to the area under the guise of meeting up to show them a car they were interested in purchasing, police said. The suspect vehicle is a black 2011 Jaguar XF sedan, bearing a Pennsylvania registration KWN-2587.

The car is registered out of the Philadelphia area, and police have been unable to make contact with the owner so far.

The suspect is approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build and is a black male with short black hair and short facial hair with a small chin beard. He went by the name Omar and was traveling with another black male who did not take an active role in the robbery.

The suspect produced a black pistol and robbed the three victims of a total of approximately $12,500. The suspect is believed to spend time in the Hazleton, Allentown and Philadelphia areas.
