Schuylkill County personnel

During a meeting Wednesday, the Schuylkill County Commissioners approved an internship agreement between Adult Probation and Bloomsburg University, paving the way for summer interns to be hired by the county. The agreement is for five years.

Kyle Karlavage, Ryan Township, will work as an intern in the adult probation office. Through a program run Career Link, Pottsville, Karlavage will be paid $12 per hour by the county, and the county will be reimbursed by the Career Link program.

Vanessa Whitecavage, Shenandoah, was approved as an intern for the Sheriffs’ Office.

In county personnel changes commissioners:

Approved the transfer of Deputy Controller Ron Zimmerman, Port Carbon, to Grant Manager at a salary of $50,351, effective May 27.

Julie Werdt, East Brunswick Township, was hired as temporary part-time Assistant District Attorney at a salary of $32,398.

Paula Moucheron, Mahanoy City, was hired as a part-time secretary in the Public Defender’s office at $12.18 per hour.

Jarritt Geiger, Washington Township, was hired as a deputy coroner/investigator for the Coroner’s Office and will work on a per fee schedule.
