CCTI recently recognized six students for their completion of the nurse aide program. This program prepares students to sit for the Nurse Aide Certification Examination through both classroom and practical learning.

David Reinbold, administrative director of CCTI, opened the ceremony with a description of the importance of nurse aides and how they came to be.

“At CCTI, we believe in the Nurse Aide’s education and the value that education provides to the health care team,” Reinbold said.

During the ceremony, students received jackets and pins signifying successful completion of the program. Each student selected an person to present them with their pins and each wrote a short testimonial to that person.

Student Destiny Green selected Michele Dominic, health occupations instructor, to pin her.

“Thank you for opening up my eyes to what I could be and what I can do,” Green wrote.

Students Haley Hawk, Karissa Nenscel, Kendra Strohl and Lucy Taylor all selected their mothers to pin them.

“You are not only my mom, you are the nurse I strive to be,” Strohl wrote to her mother, Melissa.

Each thanked their families for the love and support throughout their education.

After the pinning, the new nurse aides recited the Nurse Aide Pledge, promising to “do all within my power to maintain and raise the standards of nurse aide health care practices.”

The next step for these students is to sit for the certification exam. The CCTI program proudly boasts a 100 percent pass rate on the exam as well as a 100 percent employment rate for the program’s graduates.
