In the spirit of the season, when it’s better to give than to receive, the American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive the day after Christmas, Dec. 26, at the Tamaqua YMCA.

Hours will be from 1 to 6 p.m. and walk-ins are welcome.

Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in general good health, is eligible to donate blood. Donor cards or proper identification will be required.

Appointments for donors can be made by calling 800-RED-CROSS.

Donors will receive a free, long sleeve ARC T-shirt, while supplies last.
