Nesquehoning Police issue citations

Nesquehoning Police released a number of citations that were issued in the borough recently.

Non-traffic citations

• Robert Shubeck, 44, of West Catawissa Street, Nesquehoning was cited for operating an ice cream truck without a license. He attempted to sell ice cream from a truck in the borough on June 26 without a valid license to do so. His license for the business was removed in 2015 due to multiple factors.

• Nicole Bowes, 40, of West Catawissa Street, Nesquehoning was cited for retail theft after she took $30.53 in merchandise from the Dollar General on July 14 without paying for it.

• Terry L. Phillips, 43, of Yard Street, Nesquehoning was cited for harassment after he grabbed a woman by the wrist and yelled in her face on June 18.

• Robert G. Pilla, 45, and Sarah C. Maryasz, 40, both of Coal Street, Nesquehoning, each were cited with harassment after they got into a fight with each other on July 21.

• Oliberto Vega, 43, of West Railroad Street, Nesquehoning, was cited for confinement of dogs that are not part of a kennel for allowing his four pit bulls to run off his property and onto the street.

• Dennis Ball, 66, of East Garibaldi Avenue, Nesquehoning, was cited multiple times for allowing the vegetation on his property to grow uncontrollably without cutting it. A borough contractor was called to cut the grass.

Traffic citations

• Jose F. Barbosa of Bethlehem was cited for causing a crash that involved damage to an unattended vehicle or property in the amount exceeding $1,000.

• One citation for speeding.

• One citation for the vehicle’s exhaust not extending to the body line or past the passenger compartment.

• Two citations for careless driving.

• One citation for failing to stop at a stop sign.

• One citation for driving while under suspension.

• One citation for operating a vehicle with an expired inspection.

• Two citations for driver not having car insurance.
