Three people are facing multiple charges following a drug investigation and search which resulted in police finding large quantities of illegal substances and cash allegedly used in drug dealing operation.

Pocono Mountain Regional police identified the suspects as Dwight Sutton, 27, and Shanace Armstrong-Woods, 33, both of Scotrun; and Alyssa Cummings, 27, of Marshalls Creek.

According to police on Jan. 10, officers executed a search warrant at 268 Image Drive in Scotrun. Officers also had a felony warrant for Sutton, who was living at the residence.

As a result of the search, large amounts of heroin were located inside the home. Police found more than 1,400 bags of heroin and $5,600 in cash along with a 12-gauge shotgun. Armstrong-Woods was located in the home at the time along with a male juvenile. Armstrong-Woods was subsequently arrested and found to be a person who cannot possess a firearm.

A further investigation found Sutton was also renting a room and selling heroin out of 1438 N. Ninth St., in Stroudsburg. Surveillance was conducted and police eventually confirmed that Sutton was inside the residence. A perimeter was set up and Sutton was repeatedly ordered to exit the home.

Eventually Cummings, his girlfriend, exited the home. She was found to have Sutton’s phone and about $2,600 in cash concealed in her underwear. She also confirmed that Sutton was in the home.

After about an hour Sutton came out of the home and was taken into custody. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and a large amount of heroin was found, along with the drug ecstasy.

In total police confiscated about $15,000 in street value heroin and over $8,000 in drug money.

Charges include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, persons not to possess a firearm, criminal conspiracy to commit-PWID, criminal use of a communication facility, possessing instruments of crime, endangering the welfare of children, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three were arraigned before a district judge.
