One person died in a crash at 11:52 a.m. today on Mill Road (Route 902) in Mahoning Township, near the Summit Hill border.

Mahoning Township police said a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling east/south on Mill Road failed to negotiate a downhill left hand curve.

The Jeep crossed the center of the roadway before striking the westbound embankment. It then rolled over several times before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver died at the scene. A child secured in a child safety seat and another child secured with a seat belt survived with minor injury.

The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time for family notification. The name will be released at a later time.
