Tamaqua Police have corrected a police log item concerning retail thefts that was published in Wednesday's edition.

Brian Scott Fritz, 39, of Tamaqua, will not be cited for retail theft from Pieracini's Market.An employee contacted police on Aug. 5 after she observed Fritz placing an item in his pants as he was standing in front of an open cooler containing bottles of Sprite.The action was caught on the store's video surveillance system.However, upon further review of the footage, it was determined the item Fritz had in his hand was a cellphone.
