The Rev. Thomas F. Irwin Jr. of Springfield, a suburb of Philadelphia, was installed yesterday afternoon as the new pastor of Ben Salem-St. John's Lutheran Parish.

The installing services were in the Ben Salem Church, East Penn Township. St. John's is in Mahoning Township.The Rev. Paul H. Spohn, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton, was the officiating minister. He is the dean of the Hazleton-Lehighton District of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod. The liturgist was the Rev. William Fairchild, assistant to the president of the synod.Rev. Irwin succeeds the Rev. Charles Kampmeyer, who accepted a call to St. John's Lutheran Church, Jim Thorpe.
